training start in the cycling season in 2007 with obstacles ...
The first "step" is done. After I was prevented from since Christmas a persistent infection at a reasonable training, I was again able to base units and even more intense pressures to begin.
The training free time or the Kekssaison, however, has left its traces on my fat reserves and beamed my weight in well-known winter highs ;-)
86kg with me now and appeared at every turn in yesterday's round the Tschirgant mir die Auffahrt von Nassereith zum Arzkasten steiler denn je.

5th RaceAcrossTheAlps second place at the 2006
Platz sicherstellen.

So in this cycling discipline such a result can be achieved, a perfect team of caregivers is required. Many thanks therefore my support team consisting of Gerald, Kurt, Matt, Karo, Roberto, Fibs, and Gerhard Ewald. He took over the thankless job of controlling body and had to ride in a foreign vehicle to detect possible violations of regulations and report. Allen once again many, many thanks!

to my first Training camp this year I'm befitting traveled by bicycle. Hatting - Garda (about Torbole) with just under 300 km offered sich dafür optimal an. Genauer Bericht dazu wieder auf Schlerrys " http://www.tirolersport.com/Trainingslager/Trainingslager% 2006% 20Bericht4.htm ") and a time trial of Gargnano on Salo to Gard (like the sun, right in the night) 6 Day return journey back to the bike this time from Bolzano with decent tailwind, so I could take after 9:30 again at home a bath. Summary: A great week (told colleagues not training camp but Fereinlager) with a lot of fun, best kitchen and collected 1150 km (Thanks KARO!). Tisza (24-hour race) can occur.

April 2006 Nürburgring 24-hour bike race
brought by nearly 7-hour drive us Matthias on time and safely to the Nurburgring. There, we moved into the pit lane of the F1 track already are for reserved Box No. 10 next to an Erdinger beer tasting booth, which my great support team, Bernard Feldman (Guggi) and my son Matt visited from time to time to strengthen ;-) After the drivers meeting in the large press room of the Media Towers have been the last preparations have been made such as mounting the lighting of bicycle and helmet as well as renovation of the tires after the votes from my coaches, was that the tires were not safe. 19:30 was the starting point then in light drizzle. Some drivers completed before such a crazy pace that we wanted to believe the 24 hour race would be in the 1 the 23 km long round decision. I wanted to go with the pace in any case. Then the following Race course I was right. More about that later. First we went to the southern loop of the Nürburgring. Better known as the F1 circuit. Just before the start / finish area, the participants turned to the very undulating with steep ramps up to 18% very demanding round of the Northern line ALIAS "The Green Hell". There our Niki (National) Lauda had his serious accident at that time! After about 50 minutes I came out of the 1 Round back. Soon after the start of the rainfall was less and at temperatures around 14 ° C. I was with my rain gear a bit overdressed and thus soaking wet, now, not by rain but from the sweat. During my Betreuuer this is too much tried to tear of clothing from her body, relaxed them to the situation with the message: "So now you're well warmed up at least!" Thanks now dried-up track and the now highly resolved field of 24 drivers (123 drivers and 326 separate teams) for the first time I could enjoy the slopes of the northern loop. With top speeds of over 90 km / h in the so-called Fuchs tube with subsequent compression and shoot up a steep hill about 16%. Soon more downhills followed by "hot" turns, which could well be taken without brakes on extraordinary and left. A roller coaster can not be better. Unfortunately, following each departure time and again against the rise of so-called High Eight. It begins with 5-7% and then more steeply until it ends at the top after about 3 km with 18%. This had already been put in the first round some her wheel (!). I myself have thought of me as it should be possible this ramp to 22 or 23 h are still driving up.

thank God I have, as it turns out, in the preparation of everything right and got off to a real dream day at least regarding my form. Lap after lap I was able to reel off the night with no problems. Obligate the fives at the start / finish with my coaches always gave me extra motivation. This time there were also supplied with digestion, despite 18, 5 liters of liquid food and electrolyte drinks no problems and I could not "pit-toilet stops" through. Pee was "on the fly settled on favorable sites. At constant lap times between 52 - 55 min colleagues were well ahead of me increasingly nervous, which culminated in them each more or less long pauses. Initially, only the joy of my Bereuerteams, to me at first denied this info to a potential On Motivation to prevent my part. Their information was accessible, it will be a top place if you just travel further Sun And so it was. I just drove the optimal pace for me to turn and could not keep up with this strategy, my lap times to the end to uniformly high level.
The race course:
third 31st lap 6th place
9th round already
8th place Round, then 7
10th place Round 6
15th place Round 5
19th place Round 3 Place (after nearly 16 hours)
20th Round 2
26th place Round: Why did the leaders rounded back and am in the same round as he did, unfortunately I can not make it but aim to finish everything before 18:30 this final round as the leader, who therefore can not leave for a further round. For me the 24 hour race was so even after 23:09 over. The previously driven km: 618.85 (26.7 km / h average) vanquished meters: 4 12 000 Sensational way well before the former RAAM Lau placed Stefan (GER). Suspended other quite successful long-distance runners such as Cosmas Lang (GER), Kurt Peschke (GER), Jens Myrup Pedersen (DEN). The award ceremony was

here with my best support team, "Guggi" and "Hiasi" With wonderful evening mood was then begun the journey home. This time at the wheel "Guggi" brought us back quickly and safely home.
